Where to Eat...

Breakfast

In Newark, the only place to eat breakfast is Newark Deli and Bagel. They make the best breakfast sandwiches from the freshest ingredients! Don't be turned off by the long line (which is longest in the late morning) because the food is definitely worth it!

Lunch

On a nice day, Klondike Kates is a fun and social atmosphere to grab a bite to eat outside! Sitting on the porch is perfect for people watching since you are sitting right on the Main Street of the town. I recommend going on a Tueday, since the nachos are half price and very delicious!

Dinner

For a nice dinner in Newark, you have to go to Cafe Gelato. The service is unbeatable and the atmosphere is classy! Not to mention that the food and wine are absolutely mouthwatering! Cafe Gelato is the perfect place to go for a date, business meal, or for dining out with the family!

What to Do...

Morning

Mornings in Newark are usually for community events, as the college students are still in bed! Take in a charity run or volleyball event! There are also many community days featuring vendors, musical acts, and fun things to do with the kids!

Afternoon

In the afternoon, the best thing to do is take a stroll through the University of Delaware campus. Even if you've been out of college for years or are still in high school, the beautiful campus has something for everyone. Stroll along the green and learn a little about the history of the campus. Take a walk down Main Street and check out the cute shops or do a little people watching!

Evening

Evenings on a college campus mean there is always something fun to do! Take in a play or other act from one of the many student groups on campus. There are always cheap movies playing in the theater, or showed on the big screen tv on the green in nice weather. You can also check out Vita Nova, the campus restaurant that is top rated and completely run by students!

Late Night

The bar scene in Newark is always hopping! You can find fun and excitement any night of the week! For a more mature, laid back atmosphere, check out Iron Hill Brewery. To hear some of the local musical acts, Deer Park is the place to go, but beware it gets a bit crowded. The trendy crowd usually hangs out at Klondike Kates. For a sports bar and more casual time, definitely check out Grottos!
